Since its inception, the Regatta has raised more than $325,000, which has directly helped to defray the costs of non-medical expenses for hospice patients and families.
The Friends of Oswego County Hospice provides financial support and relief to Hospice patients and their families at a time when they need it the most. This may be a gift card for groceries, supplying personal care items, or funds to cover rent/mortgages or utilities. The Friends also fund the Hospice Volunteer Program and Camp Rainbow of Hope, a bereavement camp for children.
The sailing races begin at 10 a.m. at the Yacht Club. A reception will follow at 4 p.m. with appetizers, and a full dinner buffet at 5 p.m. DJ Patty C will provide the evening’s entertainment.
Tickets for the reception are $15 and should be purchased in advance. The reception features a variety of food and beverages donated by dozens of local restaurants. An auction, drawings and awards ceremony will round out the event.
For the first time, The Friends of Oswego County Hospice will be using online peer-to-peer fundraising. This gives everyone the opportunity to support the Regatta with a donation, no matter how small. Anyone can set up an individual or team page and upload personalized photos/videos to their site. Memorial contributions, to be included in the event program, may also be mailed to The Friends of Oswego County Hospice at P.O. Box 102 Oswego, NY 13126.
There is still time to become a sponsor, or make donation to the auction. For more information, call The Friends of Hospice at 343-5223 or email [email protected]
