Hantke's background is in football, "My Background is in football. I played for 20 years from high school and college to semipro with the CNY Express. We won the 2004 NFE National Title and I was a Minor League Football News All-American in 04 and 05. My last season of football was 2012 for the Syracuse Shock," stated Hantke. Hantke felt that football was an amazing experience in his life and considers many of his teammates like brothers to this day.
Hantke started strongman back in the end of 2014 at Pacific Health Club with Tracy Stankavage. He competed in his first contest in February of 2015. After falling in love with strongman, Hantke created 315 STRONG. "I started classes at the beginning of 2017 at Hercules Gym," said Hantke. From his first class, two of those people competed in their first contest at CNY Strongest Man and Woman in May of this year as well.
The 315 STRONG classes currently take place in Hantke's garage as well as Hercules Gym. Late in 2017, Hantke took the 315 classes and brought them to the Take Charge Strength Studios in Mexico. "This was the first time I traveled to teach a class," said Hantke. Chrissy Mason owns Take Charge Strength Studios and also trains in strongwomen and trains with Hantke. "Chrissy from Take Charge, started training with us back in late 2015 and that is where we met, he said.
The classes are once a week for five weeks. Each week, Hantke teaches the different lifts and every technique to that particular lift. "The classes are great. Having a chance to see people push themselves into things they never thought they could do and accomplish them is pretty awesome to watch and experience," stated Hantke. He also said, "I love to be able to teach and help people do different things from the normal every day barbell training.
We here at iheartoswego.com would like to wish Hantke and 315 STRONG all the best!
