AAO To Hold First Holiday Studio/Gallery Tour

     The Art Association of Oswego (AAO) is pleased to announce their first Holiday Studio/Gallery Tour November 9th. This is an opportunity for the community to visit local artists in their studios. It will feature the husband and wife show, "'Til Death Do We Art".

     The AAO located at the Fort Ontario Park. Their first Holiday Studio/Gallery Tour will run November 9th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, and  culminate with a reception at the AAO to be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This is an exciting time for the community to come out and visit local artist in their studio as well as to purchase art and enjoy the husband and wife show, "'Til Death Do We Art", creations by Bob and Laurie Kester. Bob is a nature photographer taking pictures of local Oswego scenery. Laurie is a stained glass artist who owns and operates her studio, Glass Haven. She also enjoys mediums such as pottery, painting, and collage. The show is a collaboration of both artists. Kester's enjoy inspiring each other through their art.
     The Holiday Studio/Gallery Tour stops include: printmaker Bill Demott will open his studio at The Armory, Allen Bjorkman with Picture Connection is opening his Fenix Art Studio , Lakeside Artisans Gallery with unique work from a variety of local artists, Oswego Downtown Gallery with printmaking students' work from Mary Pierce's class, and Zink with original screen prints will also have their gallery open. Plus at the AAO are several local artists: Kathy Besaw, Sandra Dowie, Phyllis Richardson, and Jane Van Emmerik.
     Postcards, listing the venues along with a map to the locations, are available at each participating venue. All 'tourists' are encouraged to end their tour at the AAO where they can turn in their postcards. Cards need to be signed off at all locations to be eligible for the art prizes. The drawing will be held at the AAO at 6:30, and participants MUST be present to win. Light refreshments will be provided at all locations.
