Ron Throop resides in Oswego and has been painting and writing for over twenty years. He has exhibited extensively throughout New York State, mainly over past eight years, and has self-published eleven books. Throop is in regular contact with a group of painters known as "The Russian Stuckists." Stuckism is an international art movement founded in 1999 to promote figurative painting as opposed to conceptual art.
Throop writes about his experience with stuckism on his website, www.ronthroop.com/round-trip-stuckism and in a blog roundtripstuckism.wordpress.com. This exhibit includes Throop's pieces along with some of his Russian counterparts.
