Recently the Angel Tree of Hope program, established by the Catholic Community of Christ The Good Shepherd at St. Joseph’s and St. Stephen’s in Oswego, donated items to Morningstar Residential Care facility.

Morningstar received many items including: blankets, robes, slippers, lotion, stuffed animals, crossword puzzles, coloring books, markers, arts and crafts decorations and much, much more.

The Angel Tree of Hope program aids local area families and community members that are in need.  The Angel Tree of Hope program donates items of necessity to care for individual’s physical and emotional needs by setting up Christmas trees year round with tags of needed items at the worship sites of both St. Joseph’s and St. Stephen’s Churches. The program collects and delivers items bi-monthly throughout the year to specific targeted community members.

In 2018, the Angel Tree of Hope program helped aid the homeless of Oswego County by donating items to Oswego County Opportunities for distribution.  They also serviced young pregnant mothers in conjunction with Joseph’s House in Syracuse; they helped the children of the Oswego City School district with summer fun activities, in addition to servicing the senior citizens of Morningstar Residential Care Facility.

During the month of December, the Angel Tree of Hope program will be servicing young children of the Oswego City School district this holiday season.  If anyone would like to participate, they would like to invite the Oswego community to select a tag from the Christmas trees beginning December 1.  Please purchase items on the tags and return no later than December 20. St Stephen’s church is located at 138 Niagara St, while St. Joseph’s s is located at 240 West 1st St.
