Join experienced potter, Audrey Proto, in learning the art of throwing on the wheel. Audrey takes beginners and intermediate students through the skills of centering, pulling, shaping, collaring, and trimming. Learn to create functional artistic pieces and matched sets with the addition of handles and design details.

Pottery Sculpture Class, January 15--February 19, Tuesdays 6:00--9:00
Rebecca Chatterton is the AAO instructor of sculpture in clay. Working with a clay type that survives the outdoor weather of year round Oswego, join her in creating lifelike and life size representations of animals, birds, and people. Each student works on the independent project of his or her choice. Rebecca helps you to calibrate anatomical proportion for exact likeness and attitude of your animal, bird, or human. Memorialize a favorite pet or person. Beginners and intermediate students welcome.

Pottery Slip Trailing Surface Textures Class, January 16--February 20,Wednesdays 6:00--9:00
Accomplished potter, Linda Knowles, will instruct the intermediate level student in the techniques of slip trailing, sgraffito, and various other surface textures and applications. Students create pots, platters, plaques, and sculptures that are then given textural and color treatments. Expand your pottery experience and knowledge with these more advanced applications.

Beginning Pottery Class, January 17--February 21, Thursdays, 6:00--9:00
Retired art teacher, Linda Shannon, offers a beginning pottery class with focus on a spring and Easter theme. Learn and apply hand building techniques to create eggs, bunnies and baskets, flowers, containers with fitted tops, and decorative bowls, all functional and aesthetic Perfect for the beginner, but intermediate students are invited to hone their skills.
