“BucFest” is planned for Saturday, October 10th, from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the end of Joe Wilber Field (rain location OHS gyms). Immediately following BucFest will be the homecoming game.
The cost of the 8th annual event is $2.50, and most of the attractions are free. Every “BucFest” visitor will receive free snacks donated by Frito Lay and free blue or white “Buc Beads” as they enter.
Participants will be able to race against each other on the brand new 68’ Rainbow Obstacle Course and the Rock Climb Slide. Sure to be popular is the brand new “Cannonball Blaster” where kids can fire foam balls into the opposing player’s net.
There will also be Airbrush Tattoos for the first time offered by Endeavor Entertainment.
“Each year we try to add new attractions and activities that will entertain and boost school spirit with the students, faculty and community,” said BucFest committee chair, Judy Queale-Dunsmoor. “We have a lot to be proud of as Buccaneers, and there will be something for everyone at this year’s BucFest.”.
In true ‘Buc’ Spirit you will able to get your hair and nails colored in “Buc Blue” as well as make a stop at the face-painting booth.
The popular DJ, “Marty from Digital Sound Entertainment “ will return again to provide music for this year’s event.
Attendees can play on a variety of inflatables from the UFO Bounce house to the Bungee Run. They can decorate a pumpkin or make their own candy leis. G&G Reptiles will be on hand with a variety of reptiles to see and touch. Some games will offer prizes donated by Fajita Grill and other local businesses. Games on a Roll will be back with a bus full of video games, and children can get their photos taken with the “Oswego Buccaneer”.
This year’s menu includes fried dough, popcorn, snow cones, hot dogs and pizza, pulled pork and chili brought to you by the football boosters, Barlow’s Concessions, Gibby O’Connor’s Irish Pub, and Mark’s Pizzeria.
The Boosters will also raffle off two exciting packages donated by Murdock’s Bicycles and Sports, a brand new bike with helmet and a skateboard with helmet.
The Buc Boosters hope that the entire Oswego community will come out to enjoy BucFest activities before cheering on the Buccaneer football team in their Homecoming contest.
