Charline A. Zanewych, 94, a resident of West Cayuga Street, passed away Monday, at the Oswego Hospital.

Charline was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Nelda Peters. She was a graduate of Oswego High School, and Oklahoma A&M College.

She was a veteran of the US Navy, and served during WWII.

Prior to her 1986 retirement, she was employed, for many years, as a loan officer at Marine Midland Bank in Oswego. She had previously worked at Stone’s Candy Shop and for the Bell Telephone Co.

She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was also a member of WELCA, and Church Women United.

Charline was an avid bowler, and participated in leagues at the Pinarama in Oswego. She loved to play bunko with her friends. She was also involved with Oswego RSVP.

She was the wife of the late Peter Zanewych, who passed away in 2010.

She is survived by her son, John W. Zanewych of Oswego; and a step-granddaughter, Amanda Lee.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, William Peters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Saturday, at the Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church, 201 East 6th Street in Oswego.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00pm, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
