Americorps members Miguel Guzman and Kory McTague will be hosting a cleat drive that will help youth sports in the community.

Youth sports are a great way for adolescents to grow mentally and physically, stay active, and create interpersonal connections between the participants.

The cleats will be donated to Oswego Youth Soccer Association, Oswego Little League, Oswego Lacrosse Club, and Oswego Pop Warner. The goal is to collect as many cleats as possible, regardless of size, sport, or condition.

The cleats will the disinfected and washed, and be separated by sport in order to deliver the correct cleats to the respective organization.

The collection of cleats will take place on Saturday, August 3rd. The cleats can be dropped off at Breitbeck Park by the pavilion from 12pm to 4pm.

Volunteers that will help clean and organize are youth participating in Oswego Pop Warner.

If there are any questions regarding this event, please feel free to contact Miguel Guzman at (315) 532-1291 or Kory McTague at (508) 667-7874.

As members of Americorps, our goals are to get things done, strengthen community, encourage responsibility, and expand opportunity.

With the help of volunteers, and donations from the community, this event supports the ideas that Americorps stands by.
