Oswego's bright spots on the day came in the game's final minutes. Freshman Theresa Glynn – in just her fifth collegiate appearance – notched her first-career goal with 4:52 remaining in regulation. The Pearl River, N.Y. native was assisted by classmate Kathleen Little. It was Little's first assist in a Laker uniform.
Little was not done as she recorded Oswego's second goal of the day – and the second of her season – just moments later. At 68:18 of the contest, the forward ripped a shot from the point that found its way over the Cortland goalie's leg and in the back of the net.
Cortland was able to notch four of its goals in the first half and scored two early goals in the second stanza. After a Red Dragon tally at 51:31, the Laker defense did not allow a goal for the final 18 minutes of action.
Sarita Charap suffered a loss in net for Oswego, despite making saves on half of the Cortland on-goal shots she faced.
The Lakers will return to action at 4 p.m. on Saturday when they travel to Geneseo to continue SUNYAC play with Geneseo.
