David Saylor – August 9, 2017

David Saylor, 72 of Oswego passed away Wednesday evening at his home after a long illness, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Saylor was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Irvin and Virginia Tesoriero Saylor.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary Varrecchia Saylor.

He served in the US Airforce as a Military Police Officer and served during the Vietnam War from 1962-1966 and was extremely proud of his service to his country.

After his discharge from the Air Force he returned to Oswego and where he joined the Oswego Police Department in 1968 and retired as a Lieutenant in 1968.

Following his retirement from the Oswego Police Department he and his wife Mary purchased the Irish Inn and operated it until 2005.

He was a life member of the Oswego Elk’s Lodge, a member of the American Legion Post 268, the Fraternal Order of Police and the Retired Policemen’s Association.

Dave was a dedicated Yankee Fan and loved managing the team from his recliner. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many forms of hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter Theresa Robinson of Oswego, one brother Donald Saylor of Volney, one sister Roberta Reitano of Oswego, two grandchildren Kevin Robinson of Clay, Mackenzie Robinson of Oswego and several neices and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother in law Bart Reitano.

Calling hours will be Monday August 14, from 4-7PM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

Because of the Feast of the Assumption on Tuesday August 15, funeral services will be Wednesday August 16, 9:30AM from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 10:00AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Minetto
