Donald Leroy Cole, 72, of New Haven, known to his closest friends as “Goober”, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Upstate Medical Center.

Born on June 4, 1946 in Oswego, NY to Bob and Betty (Irwin) Cole. He graduated from Hannibal Central School in 1963 and went into the Navy for 4 years serving on the USS Simon Lake.

He worked at Miller Brewing Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 268 where he served as Finance Officer.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Mary Morgan Cole; a son Robert (Congetta) Cole; a daughter Kimberly (Charlie) Foster; a son Michael (Amy) Cole; three grandchildren, Caitlin Cole, Tessa Bullamore and Charlie Foster; step-grandchildren Christopher and Faith Hannock; his brother Steve (Litna) Cole; nieces, nephews, cousins and “the love of his life” Muddy.

Funeral Services will be held 10a.m. Friday at the Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairdale Cemetery, Hannibal.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St. Oswego.

Donations can be made to the American Red Cross.
