The Oswego State men’s lacrosse team defeated Oneonta, 11-8, on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, Oswego improves to 9-4 on the season and 2-3 in SUNYAC play, while Oneonta falls to 4-8 overall and 1-3 in conference action.

Bobby Emerson powered the Laker offense with a game-high four goals on the day. Jarrod Wilkom was the other multiple-goal scorer for Oswego, notching two. Five other Lakers scored a goal apiece.

Kyle O’Connor helped Oswego to victory by dominating at the X. The sophomore won 16 of his 22 faceoffs.

Goalie Kevin O’Donnell played all 60 minutes in the net for Oswego. The freshman earned the win, making six saves along the way.

As a team, the Lakers outshot Oneonta 39-29, with 24 of their shots on-goal. Oswego also topped Oneonta by collecting 28 ground balls, compared to just 20 from the Red Dragons.

The Lakers will be back in action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, as they host Potsdam for Senior Day and their final game of the regular season.
