Colin Greenseich of the Oswego State men's cross country team has qualified for the 2017 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. Greenseich is the first male cross country runner from Oswego to qualify in 15 years.

The senior is coming off of a record-setting performance at the Atlantic Regionals on Saturday. With a time of 25:06.3, Greenseich now holds the Laker record for the fastest 8K time in program history. His performance earned him 15th place out of 290 runners, and he received All-Region honors as well. The Cicero native was one of seven individuals from the Atlantic Regionals to qualify for the DIII Championships.

Greenseich has placed in the top-five at four competitions this season, including a fourth place finish at the SUNYAC Championships to earn a spot in the 2017 SUNYAC Cross Country Championships Hall of Fame. The two-sport athlete, who has placed first twice in his track and field career, notched his first-ever first place finish at a cross country meet at the Oswego State Invitational on Sept. 16.

The DIII Cross Country Championships will be held on Nov. 18 at the North Farm Facility in Elsah, Ill. At noon, Greenseich and the men will begin their race, while the women begin theirs at 1:15.
