Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Sarah (Corso) Tesoriero.
Ida graduated from high school and business school in Oswego. She married James C. Godkin on July 5, 1954 and moved to Norwich where she was employed as the Executive Secretary to the Vice President of BF Goodrich Aerospace, Simmonds Precision Engine Systems Division.
Ida was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Church and a charter member of the Broken Squares Square Dancing Club. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are her daughter Jamie (Paul) Dybas of Port Crane, NY; her brother James Tesoriero of Oswego; four grandchildren, Elaina (Christian) Marotta of Clifton Park, NY; Paul Dybas of New York, NY, Thomas Dybas and Valerie Dybas both of Buffalo NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Ida was predeceased by her husband James, brothers Sam, Anthony and John Tesoriero, her sisters Anna Kuno, Theresa D’Arcangelis, Frances Todaro, Sadie Hilton. Margaret DiNardo, Catherine Vergona, Virginia Saylor and Mary DiMerio.
Calling hours will be held 4-6 pm Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home 11 West Albany Street, Oswego.
Catholic Funeral Mass will be held Friday 11 am at St. Paul’s Church, 50 East Mohawk Street, Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
