James R. “Batman” Goodall – August 8, 2017

James R. “Batman” Goodall, 69, died unexpectedly at Oswego Hospital, August 8, 2017.

Born in Wilkes-barre, PA, he was at the son of the late James Vincent Goodall and Clair (Kane) Garbett.

He graduated from Baypoint High School in Long Island and served as class President. He graduated from SUNY Oswego where he was a member of Beta Tau Epsilon, and later acquired two Master’s Degree.

He taught school in Fulton for more than 33 years.

He was a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and served as President and County President and District Director.

Batman was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 5885 and the American Legion Post 268 and the Oswego Elks Lodge Post 271.

Surviving are his wife, Constance A. Goodall; a daughter Robin Monsour, of Wolcott; siblings; Gerald Goodall, of Oregon; Sharon (Timothy) Sheehan, of Maine; Donna (Edward) Edwardsen, of N.C.; Joseph Garbett, of Oswego; two grandchildren, Martin and John Monsour and a great-grandson James Monsour; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Christine Garbett.

Calling hours will be held Sunday at Nelson Funeral Home 1-3p.m. with a service to follow, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.

Burial will be Monday 11a.m. in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Donations can be made to the Lion’s Club.
