CNY Arts Center is excited to announce an evening of Jazz in the House, Friday, July 12 at 7:30 pm with the Tony Monaco Trio, featuring world renowned master of the Hammond B-3 Organ, Tony Monaco, and Fulton's own Joe Cortini on drums and his band mate Jeff Martin on guitar.

The event will take place in the new Community Arts Center located at 121 Cayuga St. in the heart of downtown Fulton.

Tony Monaco is familiar to local audiences with appearances at Fulton Jazz Fest held annually in Fulton as well as other festivals throughout the country. “Tony is always a crowd favorite,” said Nancy Fox, Arts Center Director, “and we are very excited to have him onstage in our new community arts center along with Joe Cortini and Jeff Martin. This evening of jazz is part of our commitment to anchor downtown and help revitalize our community"

“Offering a music series at CNY Community Arts Center featuring the best in local, regional and international talent is important to us as we grow." added Nancy Fox.

Reached by phone, drummer Joe Cortini added "Tony is always a crowd favorite. A longtime fan, I invited him to play at Fulton Jazz Fest in 2014. We stayed in touch, and at one of his shows he invited me on stage to play an encore with his group. Afterwards, he suggested we do some gigs together. We're making it an annual thing-so when he passes through the area on his way to New York City he calls me to do a couple shows."

After shows in Fulton and Syracuse Tony will play Sunday in Albany before heading to the City to perform at Birdland with Steve Smith (yes, that Steve Smith, drummer from Journey) and jazz guitarist Vinny Valentino. "I usually go to New York to see Tony play with Steve and Vinny, it's a drum lesson for sure!" Cortini added.

Nancy Fox also noted "With a 7:30 start time there’s plenty of time to enjoy any of our downtown restaurants before this amazing show."

Tickets are available online at CNYArtsCenter.com and at the door. Please get your tickets now; this show will sell out.
