Local photographer Tristi Jones takes her photography to the next level with the grand opening of The Loft at 37 E. First St.

Owner and operator of The Loft, Jones began her photography career when she began taking IMG 5461pictures of her family and posting them on her personal Facebook page. Jones' said her friends and family saw pictures from her Facebook and asked her to do the photography at their personal event. From there, The Loft was set up for a place where photographers from the area can gather to shoot their photos and sell their work out of.

The Loft assists photographers from all across town as well as provides training lessons to those seeking advice from experienced photographers like Jones. According to Jones, she's worked with photographers on lighting, triggers and co-ops with photographers who have reached out to her for advice and guidance within the world of photography.

"There are so many people who are photographers from the area who I just want to help out. The Loft is kind of a neat and low key place where photographers can shoot and sell their stuff without feeling below any business of a higher form," Jones said.

IMG 5441     While growing up, Jones said she was influenced by her father's photography, which led to her taking photography courses on her own and developing a personal Facebook group for her photos. In 2009, Jones began her Facebook webpage for RosebudArts Photography, which branched into the development of The Loft.

"My personal favorite shoot is called product photos. Product photos are for the advertising of local businesses. It's neat to take pictures of certain products and really help out one another while still doing what I like to do best (photography)," Jones said.

Jones does anything from birthday parties, Diva For a Day shoots, senior pictures, weddings, to casual family portraits upon request. The Loft is located right on the east side of Oswego and has refurbished wood floors with an upstairs dressing room. Jones is planning on finishing up some more minor adjustments to the space to make it her real "home away from home."
