The facility's kitchen staff prepared full BBQ chicken dinners that were available to all staff members. All proceeds from the event benefited the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
"This was the first time we have done a chicken BBQ," Kelsey Rose, director of activities for Morningstar Residental Care Center, said. "We also held drawings for gift baskets that were donated by our employees. It was a big success. The employees and the residents enjoyed the dinners and it was a great opportunity for Morningstar to help raise much-needed funds for a great cause. Having had one of my close relatives pass away from breast cancer, I strongly support the mission of the Relay for Life event and its efforts to raise money for cancer research."
