The full day art camp will offer four weeks of art and theatre classes, plus the popular free lunch, free art noon program open to any child in the county.
“We are so excited to finally hold Arty Camp in our new location,” said Camp Director Monique Harrison. “The added space allows us to hold art and theatre classes at the same time and have one central location for kids to be dropped off for a full day of art fun! We are able to accommodate all our summer camp activities in four weeks rather than six which gives us more summer time for other exciting family activities and events being planned.”
This year’s full day art camp includes activities in visual and theatre arts. Acrylic painting, All about Magic, Scientific Art, Papier Mache, Print-making, Space Art, woodworking and more are among the classes planned. Aspiring actors learn improvisation and acting skills while performing works written by fellow campers and Instructor Jess Tetro. Parents are invited to presentations of theatre pieces created by the campers, and exhibits of completed art projects at the close of each session.
The popular midday program of free lunches and art projects, made possible by OCO and a grant from Oswego City/County Youth Bureau will also be open and free to any child in the county. From noon to 2pm every child who attends will have a free lunch and make a free art project to take home.
