The macabre and murderous Sweeney Todd, a Londontown barber with a penchant for pastry, has been frightening and delighting audiences for decades in this rollicking tale of revenge.
"After the two years of classic American Musical Comedies - Damn Yankees & Anything Goes - we were looking to give our audiences a 'taste' of something different and also challenge our incredibly talented students,” said OHS Drama Club advisor and music educator Robert Dumas.
Dumas will serve as Music Director for the performance with fellow Oswego City School District music educator Garrett Heater taking the Director’s chair. Under Dumas and Heater’s leadership, the OHS Musical is the most award-winning program in the three-year history of the Syracuse High School Theatre Awards.
“Sweeney Todd will surely give our students something to really 'sink their teeth into'!" Dumas said.
Auditions will be held on November 14 and 15 and are open to all OHS students.
The production of “Sweeney Todd” will run February 9 and 10 at 7:30 at the OHS Robinson-Faust Theatre of the Performing Arts.
