The Oswego State field hockey team has announced its 2018 schedule. Oswego will play a 16-game slate during the campaign, including more than half at Laker Turf Stadium.

On the final day of August, Oswego will open its season when Wells College comes to campus for a 4 p.m. contest. The next day, Houghton College will visit the Lakers at 12 p.m. for another nonconference matchup.

Oswego will then hit the road for a pair of games, starting with Elmira College at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5. After more than a week off, the Lakers will return to action and the road for a Sept. 14 tilt with Marywood University in Scranton, Pa.

The Lakers final tune-up for conference action will be when they host Nazareth College at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

SUNYAC games start for Oswego at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 when the Brockport Golden Eagles come to the Port City. Oswego's first league road game will be that Wednesday when it travels south to face Cortland at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the Lakers will return home for a 1 p.m. start with Geneseo.

Following five days off, the Lakers will head to New Paltz for a 4 p.m. battle on Friday, Oct. 5 before traveling north to Oneonta for a 1 p.m. start the next day.

Oswego then has a week of nonconference games, bringing Hartwick College and St. John Fisher College to campus. The Lakers play the Hawks at 4 p.m. on Oct. 9 before facing the Cardinals at 4 p.m. on Oct. 13.

In the final conference action of the regular season, Oswego will host Morrisville at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

The regular season will then close with a trio of nonconference meetings. First will be the home finale with Keuka College at 4 p.m. on Oct. 23. Oswego then treks to Canton, NY for a 4 p.m. matchup on Friday, Oct. 26 with St. Lawrence University. The next day, the Lakers will journey down to Schenectady, NY for their final game, beginning at 12 p.m. against Union College.

Postseason action is set to start with the SUNYAC Championship, with the semifinal round opening on Halloween.
