The Oswego Player's latest production, will be led by veteran director Richard Mosher.

Over the years Richard Mosher has directed several other shows, for the Players including “The Lion in Winter”, “Silent Night, Lonely Night”, On Borrowed Time and “Once Upon a Mattress”, among others. He also directed "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)", for Theatre Du Jour.

In addition Richard has appeared on stage many times beginning at the age of 8 in a Rosemary Nesbitt production of “Miracle on 34th Street” and continuing with productions with Salt City Theater , Lakeside Dinner Theater, Oswego Opera Theater, CNY Artz, Theatre Du Jour as well as the Oswego Players. Favorite roles include Boo Radley in “To Kill a Mocking Bird” Charley in “The Mighty Casey”, Curley in “Of Mice and Men, and many others.

However, Mosher's main interest has always been with the more technical aspects of the theater. At the age of ten he acted as Assistant Stage Manager for a Salt City Production of “Godspell” and since then has risen through the ranks to become the principal Light Designer with the Oswego Players and other organizations. He has also served as a Stage Manager, Props Master, Set Construction Designer and as an Board member with the Player's.

Richard's involvement with all things theater truly shines through with his latest directoral project, the TONY award winning comedy “ART”. “ART” is a play that requires split second comic timing and intuitive acting in order to be successful, and the three actors Mosher selected to fill the roles, Peter Mahan, Erik Mosher and Joshua Ammons, achieve this effortlessly. In addition, Richard Mosher's technical expertise should make this show an extraordinarily exciting opener for the Oswego Players 80th anniversary season.

“ART” was written by Yazmina Reza and Christopher Hampton, and won the Tony award for Best Play in 1998. The Play is presented by special arrangement with Dramatist's Play Service.
