The Oswego Stampede have begun to gear up for the 2018-2019 NA3HL playoffs, taking all three games from the Niagara Falls Powerhawks this past weekend outscoring them 22-1 over the three game series.

Friday’s Box Scores:

Niagara Falls 0 @ Oswego 7 – A 38-save shutout from Ben White and two goals by Elijah Morris guided the Stampede to a 7-0 win over the Powerhawks on Friday. Dylan Gulick, Nick Snyder, Rich Hart, Tommy Kilway and Joey Gallo also lit the lamp. Niagara Falls’Goaltender Josh Mitchell played well with 49 saves between the pipes.

Saturday’s Box Scores:

Niagara Falls 0 @ Oswego 7 – Elijah Morris, Wade Moak and Rich Hart each scored twice, Manny Legace turned aside all 27 shots against and the Stampede coasted past the Powerhawks 7-0. Ryan Gunther added another marker for Oswego as Niagara Falls’Goaltenders Jonathan Sebastiano and Josh Mitchell finished with 40 saves on the night.

Sunday’s Box Scores:

Niagara Falls 1 @ Oswego 8 – Wade Moak and Rich Hart set the pace with two goals apiece as the Stampede tore through the Powerhawks 8-1 to close out their weekend set. Also scoring for Oswego were Elijah Morris, Tommy Kilway, Danny Mikol and Joey Gallo as Ben White earned the 32-save win between the pipes. Matthew Schemelia potted the lone ‘Hawks goal as Noah Spiesz stopped 41 pucks in the Niagara Falls crease.

Both Stampede starting goaltenders recorded shutouts on the weekend with Ben White allowing only one goal in his two starts with a 38 save and a 33 save outing while chipping in an assist in Sunday’s game. Manny Legace also recorded his first junior shutout stopping all 27 shots in Saturday’s contest. “It’s a huge confidence builder for our team to have three very strong outings both defensively and offensively and both goaltenders earning shutouts on the weekend. The Stampede improved their record to 20-17-2-1 on the season and have opened up a 13 point lead on the 3rd place Skylands Kings with 7 games remaining for the Stamp and 9 games left for Skylands to try and close the gap.

The Stampede will host the Kings in the final two games of the regular season which should have a definite playoff atmosphere at “The Fort” in Oswego, NY. March 9th and 10th. “We still have a long way to go to secure second place for the first round but we are definitely on track at this point.” states Stampede Coach Travis Hyde.

The Stampede will head to Binghamton next weekend to face-off against the division leading Senators both on Friday night and again on Sunday afternoon at the Ice House Sports Complex in Binghamton, NY. Friday’s game is at 8 PM while game two is Sunday at 12:00 Noon.
