Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Ethel Bert and Mary (Watts) Baldwin.
He was an US Military Veteran having served with the Army from 1968 to 1972 and then served with the Marines from 1976 until 1985. He worked as an Auto Mechanic.
Richard enjoyed fishing and was a Pitcher for fast pitch softball for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Denise (Anthony) Baldwin; two sons, Richard J. (Jessica) Baldwin and Robert (Tiffany) Baldwin, both of Las Vegas; seven sisters, Sharon Farley; Ellen (Richard) Heagerty; Mary Farley; Margaret (John) Elwell, all of Oswego; Frances (James) Elliott of Florida; Linda Shurtliff and Nancy Lucas, both of Oswego; three brothers, James (Darlene) Baldwin; George (Judith) Baldwin; Robert (Karen) Baldwin, all of Oswego; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
