Wayne and Richard Mosher have been cast by seasoned director Bobby Fontana in the play which was adapted from the book of the same title by author Mitch Albom. The play will be performed the first two weekends in March, opening the 78th season of the Oswego Players, Inc.
The two Moshers are familiar faces on stage and as directors for the Players. Wayne Mosher was last seen in “On Borrowed Time” and earlier in “To Kill A Mockingbird.” For several years he directed children’s productions for the Players. Richard Mosher was last seen in “Of Mice and Men” and before that in “Once Upon A Mattress.” Last season he directed “The Last Five Years” and before that “The Lion In Winter.”
Bobby Fontana has been a part of the Oswego Players’ directors list since 1997. In 2015 he directed “Of Mice and Men” and a show each of the last six years. A sports enthusiast, “Tuesdays With Morrie” holds a special place for him since Mitch Albom is a very successful sports journalist. The play tells the story of Albom’s weekly visits with his college professor, Schwartz who is dying of Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
“Tuesdays With Morrie” will be staged in the France Marion Brown Theater of the Oswego Civic Arts Center on Friday and Saturday, March 4, 5, 11, 12 at 8 pm and on Sunday, March 13 at 23 pm. For reservations, contact the Players’ box office at 343-5138.
