The accolade is one of many that Vilchez has received for her performance during the 2018 season, including both the SUNYAC Pitcher and Player of the Year. Vilchez dominated in all facets, ending the season with a 2.61 ERA and a team-best .378 batting average. The sophomore especially excelled in conference contests, recording an ERA of 1.35, which was the second lowest in the SUNYAC. It was the same case for Vilchez at the plate, as she batted .429 and led the conference with 23 runs scored. Vilchez demonstrated her power in SUNYAC games as well, racking up a conference-best 13 doubles.
Frampton also split her time at the plate and on the mound. The transfer-junior recorded a .374 batting average in her first year as a Laker, which was the second-highest on the team after Vilchez. Frampton knocked in a team-best 30 RBI which ranked fourth in the SUNYAC. Frampton also led Oswego in walks, drawing 13. Pitching 69.1 innings, Frampton notched a 3.23 ERA and collected three saves. Her average of 5.27 strikeouts per seven innings pitched was a team-best.
This is the second time in program history that the Lakers have earned All-Region honors, as Tori Trovato was named to the ECAC Upstate Softball All-Star First Team in 2013.
