The 4th Annual “Out Run Autism” 5K kicks off Autism Awareness month this April once again with the support of top sponsor Vona’s Restaurant.

“We are very grateful to have the continued support from the Vona family,” noted Oswego County Autism Task Force President, Tammy Thompson.

The run/walk will take participants through Oswego's East side, scenic Fort Ontario area on Saturday, April 6. This year’s /run event will also include the Little Lukes “Kids Fun Run,” taking place just before 5K start.

Spectators and supporters who opt out of the 5K can also participate by enjoying a delicious meal for a great local cause. The "OutRun Autism" 5k & “Breakfast of Autism Champions” will benefit the Oswego County Autism Task Force who provides Autism Awareness and creates possibilities for those touched by Autism Spectrum Disorder in Oswego County.

Event will kick off at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Press Box Restaurant on East First Street in Oswego with awards to follow. All runners/walkers looking to celebrate the cause post-race or supporters looking to cheer on runners can meet up at the Press Box and enjoy the "Breakfast of Autism Champions" (from 9am - 11 am for additional cost paid upon service to the Press Box) and proceeds will go be donated to the event as well.

“We are expecting another great turnout of runners, walkers, and supporters for this year’s event given so many have truly been touched in some way by Autism Spectrum Disorder,” noted Julie Chetney, Race Director. “Supporting this annual event by walking, running or simply enjoying the breakfast provided by the Press Box helps the Task Forces support the Autism community throughout Oswego County.”

Registration is open by going to www.auyertiming.com. Registration will close on April 4. Limited same day registration spots will be available. Donations can also be made on the site, and all are welcome to cheer on runners at the Press Box the morning of the race.
